I work with photography, moving image and sound, engaging long-term with specific places and communities. I am interested in shared authorship and the conversations, negotiations and power dynamics that surround the photographic moment.
I recently completed a practice-based PhD at Glasgow School of Art, funded by the Carnegie Trust. The project develops new ways of working with dialogical photography specifically for the prison environment by placing ethical tensions at the centre of the creative process. The project was exhibited inside the prison and at Cample Line in Thornhill. I recently presented the research at the Have Some Imagination conference at BALTIC, Newcastle.
